What’s Cookin’?

Pork Barbecue
1 1/2 pounds pork
1 1/2 cups chili sauce
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. curry powder
1/2 tsp. chili powder
Salt and pepper to taste.
Cook pork until tender.
Shred pork or chop into pieces.
Stir together remaining ingredients and add to pork.
Simmer for 15 minutes.

Dressing for Salad
4 egg yolks
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup vinegar
1 cup sugar
Beat eggs with fork until smooth.
Add vinegar, water and sugar.
Stir constantly over medium heat.
Bring to a slow boil to thicken slightly.
Keep in refrigerator.
It will thicken more when cool.

Coffee Chocolate Cake
3 cups flour
2 cups white sugar
4 Tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 cup vegetable oil
2 Tbsp. vinegar
2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup cool water
1 cup hot coffee
Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl.
Add vinegar, vanilla, oil and cool water.
Mix and add hot coffee.
Mix well and pour into a greased and floured 9’ x 13’ pan.
Bake at 350º for 30 to 35 minutes.
Makes a nice moist cake.
You may use cream cheese, caramel or peanut butter frosting.
