Radiology Department expands weekend services
Beginning in February, Pocahontas Memorial Hospital’s Radiology Department will expand its weekend services with ultrasounds now available on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month.  The Radiology Department has always offered x-rays and CT scans seven days a week, but ultrasounds have previously been available Monday through Friday only.
The Saturday ultrasounds will be performed by Adam Palmer, who is registered in echo and vascular studies and has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Mountain State University.  Palmer has 12 years of experience in the field and will perform venous Doppler, carotids and echos.
PMH is pleased to be able to offer the convenience of ultrasound services on weekends. To schedule an appointment, please call 304-799-7400 ext 1305.

Retinal Eye Exams now available at PMH
Through a special tele-medicine partnership with Charleston Area Medical Center, Pocahontas Memorial Hospital can now offer retinal eye exams for people with diabetes or hypertension. Appointments are available on Tuesdays, beginning in February and will be conducted at the PMH Rural Health Clinic.
Pictures of the patient’s eyes will be taken at PMH and the patient will immediately video-conference with a board-certified ophthalmologist from CAMC Physicians Group. A healthcare provider referral is required to make an appointment. To request more information or make an appointment, contact Ashley Pritt at 304-799-7400 ext 1112.
