What’s Cookin’?

Dutch Meat Loaf
1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1 cup fresh bread crumbs
1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 egg, well beaten
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
Lightly mix all ingredients.
Form into a loaf and place in shallow pan.
Mix together:
1/2 can tomato sauce
3/4 cup water
1 1/2 Tbsp. prepared mustard
1 Tbsp. vinegar
1 Tbsp. brown sugar
Pour over meat loaf and bake 1 hour and 15 minutes at 350º.

7-Up Cake
3 cups sugar
2 sticks margarine
1/2 cup Crisco
5 eggs
3 cups Hudson Cream flour
10 oz. 7-up
3 tsp. lemon extract
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. almond extract
Cream sugar, margarine and crisco.
Beat one egg at a time and add to mixture.
Alternate flour and 7-Up.
Add extracts.
Beat well.
Pour into a greased and floured tube pan.
Bake 325º for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Cool in pan.
