What’s Cookin’?

Poppy Seed Bread
3 cups flour
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 Tbsp. poppy seeds
1 1/2 cups milk
3/4 cup vegetable oil
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 tsp. almond flavoring
1 1/2 tsp. butter flavoring.
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl.
Beat 2 minutes at medium speed with an electric mixer.
Spoon batter into 2 greased loaf or round pans.
Bake at 350º for 1 hour or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool loaves in pans 10 minutes.
Remove from pans and cool completely.
Drizzle with orange glaze.

Orange Glaze
1 cup sifted confectioner’s sugar
2 Tbsp. orange juice
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp almond flavoring
1/2 tsp. butter flavoring
Mix well, drizzle on bread.
