Bread Pudding\r\n4 cups stale bread\r\n1\/4 tsp. salt\r\n3 cups warm milk\r\n1\/2 cup sugar\r\n3 eggs\r\n1 tsp. vanilla\r\n1\/2 tsp nutmeg\r\nCrumble stale bread and soak in milk and salt for 20 minutes.\r\nCombine eggs, sugar, vanilla and nutmeg and beat well.\r\nPour mixture over the bread and lightly stir.\r\nTightly cover pan in foil and set in pan of hot water and bake in a 350\u00ba oven for 45 minutes.\r\nCover with meringue and bake at 300 \u00ba for another 15 minutes.\r\nServe with the following sauce:\r\n\r\nBrown Sugar Sauce\r\n1\/2 lb. brown sugar\r\n1\/4 cup flour\r\n1 cup boiling water\r\n1\/4 cup butter\r\n1\/2 tsp. vanilla\r\nMix sugar and flour together.\r\nAdd boiling water.\r\nCook mixture until thick.\r\nRemove from heat and add butter and vanilla.\r\nServe over Bread Pudding.
