Richard Hill

Richard Allen Hill, 73, of Denmar, passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at CAMC General in Charleston. Born June 6, 1948, in Lobelia, he was a son of the late Dennis and Minnie Shafer Hill.

Richard was a coalminer for Fola Coal Company for 20 years and a U.S. Army Veteran.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis McKeever; and a brother, David Hill.

He is survived by a daughter, Melissa Hill, of Slaty Fork; and a son, Richard Allen Hill, Jr., of Maurertown, Virginia; four grandchildren, Seth Doss, Kyler Doss, Chance Hill and Joseph Hill; two sisters, Plumia Hause, and husband, Kyle, of Buckeye, and Elsie Layman, and husband, Paul, of Amelia, Virginia; brother, Harold Hill, and wife, Catherine, of Renick.

Richard had many wonderful neighbors and friends.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 23, 2021, at noon at Lantz Funeral Home in Buckeye with Military Rites by the Pocahontas County Veterans Honor Corps.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until time of service.
