Sam Felton, Mayor
Don’t forget – next week is clean-up week
The Town of Marlinton designated April 11 through 15 as clean-out and clean-up week. Remember – it’s free, if you can get it in a trash bag. There is a charge of $10 to $25, depending on the size of items such as furniture or appliances.
Thumbs up to Dexter and Luke on the trash truck for all their extra work during this process. We appreciate it.
Call the town office at 304-799-4315 if you want to dispose of electronic items, such as keyboards, computers and printers, TVs and/or stereos. These types of items must be separated to be accepted at the landfill.
Also, there will be a Free Tire Collection Day at the county landfill Saturday, April 23, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. A valid West Virginia driver’s license is required, and you can dispose of up to 10 tires. Rims are accepted.
Most of you have heard the Chinese proverb that proclaims: “A thousand-mile journey begins with a single step…”
Block by block, street by street, you can each make a difference.
I can remember when most of this town looked like a Norman Rockwell painting, and it’s not too late to begin again.
Together, we can make the difference.
Make Marlinton Shine.
