Janet Eula Starks, age 83, of Bartow, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2018, at Elkins Rehab and Care Center in Elkins.

Born August 30, 1934, at Bartow, she was a daughter of the late Charles P. and Eula Morris Gainer.

Janet was a bookkeeper for Starks Lumber and the Greenbrier Ranger Station. She enjoyed being a homemaker and loved to sew and read.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Starks, Sr.; son, Robert “Bimbo” Starks, Jr.; a great-grandchild; and brothers, William “Bill” Gainer and Thomas Gainer.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary Peck, of Bartow and Debra Rexrode, and husband, Terry, and Karen Allen, and husband, Joseph, all of Avoca, Michigan; sons, Allen Gainer, and wife, Tamera, of Avoca, Michigan, and Thomas Starks, and wife, Mary, of Stuarts Draft, Virginia; a sister, Mary Turner, and husband, Joseph, of Seneca Rocks; a brother, John Gainer, and wife, Edith, of Owensburg, Kentucky; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends Thursday, August 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Arbovale. Funeral service will be held Friday, August 3, 1 p.m. at Wallace and Wallace Chapel in Arbovale with Pastor David Rittenhouse officiating. Interment will be in the Starks Cemetery at Thornwood.
