James Shearer

James Wilmer Shearer, Jr., age 74, of Buckeye, passed away Friday, January 18, 2019, at CAMC – Memorial Division.

Born September 14, 1944, in Marlinton he was a son of the late James Wilmer Sr. and Mildred Jane Harsh Shearer.

Jim was of the Methodist faith, a United States Army Vietnam Veteran, and a head mechanic for the Pocahontas County Board of Education.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Marie Martin; grandson, Timothy Shearer; granddaughter, Alexandria Marie Shearer; brother, Ricky Allen Shearer; and a half-brother, Tommy Harsh.

He is survived by his wife, Katherine Myers, Shearer, whom he married August 30, 1969; son, Steven Dwayne Shearer, of Buckeye; three grandchildren, Ashley Good, Jasmine Shearer and Sheena Scott; six great-grandchildren; six sisters, Margaret Burr, Debra Keatley, Diana Shearer and Teresa Rhea, all of Marlinton, Patricia Wilfong, of Buckeye, Vicky Harbour, of Milton, Lois Alderman, of Hillsboro, and Mildred Myers, of Florida; three brothers, Kenneth Shearer and Roy Shearer, both of Buckeye, and Robert Shearer of Marlinton.

In keeping with his wishes, the body will cremated and no service held.
