Helen Moore Gay, age 76, of Hortonville, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, January 29, 2015.
Born July 6, 1938, in the beautiful town of Marlinton, she was a daughter of the late Lena Weatherholt.
Helen was a 1956 graduate of Marlinton High School. She spent years living in Ohio, Uganda, Africa, Birnamwood, Wisconsin, and settled in Hortonville, Wisconsin. She worked for many years at the Hortonville Toy Factory. She also worked for many years as a secretary/accountant for longtime friend, Robert “Doc” Gay at Great Lakes Veterinary Clinic and Equine Health Management.
Helen shared her gracious smile with many, as she worked most recently at Kwik Trip, Sam’s Club and in earlier years as a hostess at the Black Otter Supper Club. Her contagious smile would brighten anyone’s day, we will forever feel blessed to have her in our hearts.
“Be the reason someone else smiles today”…… that was Helen.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a son, Wesley Moore Gay.
She is survived by her sons, Kevin Gay, and wife, Kathi, of Greenville, Wisconsin, and Randy Gay, of Hortonville, Wisconsin; eight grandchildren, Wesley Gay, Joshua Gay, Zachary Gay, Karli Gay, Aaron Brimmer, Lucas Brimmer, Lauren Gay and Lindsay Matthewson; a brother, Zed Weatherholt, and wife, Loretta, of Marlinton; and two nieces, Jeni Jackson and Kama Offenberger and their families.
A celebration of Helen’s life will be Saturday, February 7, 3 p.m. at Christus Lutheran Church in Greenville, Wisconsin, with Pastor Jennifer Christenson officiating. Family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until time of service. Helen’s celebration will continue on her birthday in July, in her beloved hometown of Marlinton, where she will be laid to rest.
