He was a diesel mechanic for Giant Food Company for many years, and retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways, District 8, as a master mechanic. He was an active member of the Elkins Family Worship Center, an avid hunter and fisherman and NASCAR fan and was known as a practical joker.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Karen Marie Currence, and husband, Jeff, Denise Lynne Campbell, and husband, Ric, all of Elkins, and Patricia Ann Vollmer, and husband, Tom, of Loveland, Ohio; a brother, Thomas Edgar Hudnall, and wife, Mary, of Milton; two sisters, Jacqueline Desler, and husband, Jim, of Indiana, and Jean H.
