Police Graduate

Mrs. John Hause and daughter, Mrs. Don Kiner, attended the graduation exercises of the Virginia State Police Basic Training School in Richmond, on December 16, 1966. Her son, Kyle T. Hause, graduated from the school in the upper third of the class…
Kyle has been assigned to Richmond and will work in Henrico and Hanover counties.

ENGAGEMENT

Mr. and Mrs. Dice Rimel, of Buckeye, wish to announce the engagement of their daughter, Carolyn Ann, to Curtis Richard Landis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Landis, of Marlinton.

The bride-elect is a 1964 graduate of Marlinton High School. She is presently employed by the Department of Commerce in Rockville, Maryland.

The prospective bridegroom is a graduate of Hillsboro High School. He is employed by the State Police Department in Paden City.

WEDDING

Miss Frances Marie Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Max Smith, of Beard, and Samuel Ray McKenney, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo McKenney, of Marlinton, were united in marriage at one o’clock in the afternoon on Sunday, January 1, 1967.

The single ring ceremony took place in the home of the bridegroom’s parents with the Rev. Howard McNeill, grandfather of the bridegroom, officiating.

Born to PFC and Mrs. Wesley Stanley, of Hillsboro, a daughter, named Gina Lynette.
Born to Mr. and Mrs. Roy Anderson, of Huntersville, a daughter.
Born to Mr. and Mrs. Jon H. Young, of Enfield, Connecticut, a daughter, Jane Patrice. Paternal grandmother is Mrs. Nell Young, of Marlinton.
Born to Mr. and Mrs. Timothy G. Hevener, of Cincinnati, Ohio, a daughter, named Robin Ann. Mrs. Hevener is the former Shirley Barkley.
Born to Mr. and Mrs. Jacob D. Mullett, of Morgantown, a son, named Charles Jacob. The mother is the former Martha Kay Dilley.

DEATHS

Mrs. Billee Hamrick, 72, of Beard; widow of John Gray Hamrick.
Charles Starks, 64, of Droop; seriously injured when a building partition fell on him about six weeks ago. Born at Droop, a son of the late Henry and Margaret Phillips Starks. Burial in the Whiting Cemetery.
Mrs. Izetta Mary Nelson, 69, lifelong resident of Cass. Burial in Bethel Cemetery on Back Mountain.
Miss Flora Gillespie, 73, of Elkins. Born at Arbovale, she was a daughter of the late James W. and Florence Cooper Gillespie. Burial in the Arbovale Cemetery.
Arnold Jack Ferrell, 93, of Marlinton; born at Nellie Ford (Nellysford), Virginia, a son of the late Thomas and Margaret Williams Ferrell. Burial in Mountain View Cemetery.
George (Dick) Thomas Forren, 76, of Seebert; a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Forren. Burial in the Steel (sp) Cemetery at Seebert.
Joe Gaylor, 53, of Mill Point; born at Huntersville, a son of Henry and Dicie Buchannan Gaylor. Burial in the Old Droop Cemetery.
George Andrew Bennett, 94, of Circleville; a son of the late John and Mary Vint Bennett. Burial in the Bennett Cemetery.
