Elma Biggs

Elma Shinaberry Biggs, age 81, of Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Sunday, April 6, 2014, at LewisGale Hospital – Alleghany, Low Moor, Virginia.

Born April 26, 1932, in Marlinton, she was a daughter of the late Wilbur Shinaberry, Sr., and Grace Higgins Hill.

Elma was a homemaker and a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church. She was a former member of the Selma Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Darle Biggs; an infant daughter, Janet Marie Biggs; and two brothers, Wilbur Shinaberry and James Shinaberry.

She is survived by a daughter, Darlene Nuckols, and husband, James, of Iron Gate, Virginia; a son, Mark Biggs, and wife, Wendy, of Selma, Virginia; a sister, Ruth Buzzard, of Marlinton; three grandsons, Corey Nuckols, Todd Nuckols and Dale Biggs; two great-grandsons, Will Nuckols and Cody Nuckols; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside service is April 10, at 2 p.m. in Mountain View Cemetery with Rev. Ned Alderman officiating.
