According to Pocahontas County Clerk Connie Carr, the following cases were heard July 15 before the Honorable Judge Robert E. Richardson:

Melanie D. Cosner, 45, of Durbin, waived her right to a speedy trial, and the matter is continued to the next term of court. Change of plea hearing is set for August 14.

Jacob Owen Gragg, 20, of Slaty Fork, waived his right to a speedy trial, and the matter is set for a motions hearing August 14. A special prosecutor has been assigned to this case.

A bond revocation hearing was held in the case the State vs James William Wood, Jr., 26, of Marlinton, wherein the court granted the State’s motion to revoke the defendant’s bond. The defense asked that Wood be housed somewhere other than Tygart Valley Regional Jail because of safety issues. The court granted the request. Wood was remanded to custody.

Plea negotiations are in process in the case the State vs Carrie D. Pritt, 28, of Warm Springs, Virginia.
