Carlen Shinaberry

Carlen D. Shinaberry, age 73, of Frank, passed away Monday, April 6, 2015, at Hospice Care in Elkins.

Born May 27, 1941, he was the youngest son of the late Bedford and Druzilla Shinaberry.

Carlen retired from Howes Leather Company and then worked full time in his wood shop crafting handmade furniture and cabinets. He was a volunteer with the Bartow-Frank-Durbin Fire Department for several years. He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Karen S. Shinaberry, on February 16, 2014; brothers, Arlie Shinaberry and Alvie Shinaberry; and sisters, Elsie Shinaberry and Grey Shinaberry Dilley.

He is survived by four daughters, Theresa “Terri” Weimer, and husband, Ronald, of Cass, Kimberly Johnson, and husband, Kirk, of Olympia, Washington, Sheila Burgess, of Franklin, Tennessee, and Carla Cascio, and husband, Joseph, of Baltimore, Maryland; four grandsons, Kevin Weimer, and wife, Sue, of Weston, Mark Weimer, and wife, Kelley, of Cass, Alexander Johnson, of Olympia, Washington, and David Cascio, of Baltimore, Maryland; four granddaughters, Emily Sapp, and husband, Andres, of Clarksville, Tennessee, Ellen Burgess, of Nashville, Tennessee, Amber Johnson, of Olympia, Washington, and Annalea Cascio, of Baltimore, Maryland; two great-grandchildren, Michael Weimer, of Cabin Creek, and Carlen G. Weimer, of Cass; three brothers, Gay Shinaberry, of Monaca, Pennsylvania; Sterl Shinaberry, of Verco Beach, Florida, and Arnold Shinaberry, of Stony Bottom; and two sisters, Eva Reinard, of Pulaski, New York, and Edna Irvine, of Richwood.

Memorial service is Saturday, June 13, at noon, in the Shinaberry Cemetery at Clover Lick.
