Dinner Meeting
The Winter Educational Dinner Meeting will be held Tuesday, January 19, at 6:30 p.m. in the Marlinton Municipal Building.
Jeff Clark of Dow Agro Sciences will discuss control of undesirable weeds in pastures and hayfields. Clark will tell us how and when to control those weeds and some of the advantages/disadvantages associated with spraying for weed control.
Attendance at this meeting will also be worth three (3) pesticide applicator re-certification credits for categories 11, 12 and PA.
To attend the meeting you must RSVP to the Pocahontas County Extension Office by Friday, January 15, by calling 304-799-4852.
There will be a $3 charge for the dinner.
State Teen Leaders
Weekend
February 12-14
Registration for State Teen Leaders Weekend is now open for all 4-Hers between the ages of 13 and 19. All registration information can be found at http://4- hyd.ext.wvu.edu/events_forms/tlw and the online registration deadline is January 15. Each county is allowed one full scholarship for an adult counselor, and the counselor application is also due by January 15. Any parent or leader who is interested in being considered for this position needs to contact the Extension Office immediately at 304-799-4852.
State Dance Camp
February 26-28
Dance Camp registration is now open for all 4-Hers in grades six and up. The online registration deadline for youth is January 29, but there are limits to the classes, so early registration is advised. All information can be found at http://4-hyd.ext. wvu.edu/events_forms/dance
Our county’s adult counselor/chaperone positions have all been filled at this time.
Poster and Photo Contests
All entries in the county 4-H Poster and Photo contests are due in the Extension Office by January 29. Contact your local 4-H club leader or the Extension Office for more information.

The 2016 Pocahontas County 4-H Camp will be held July 18-22. Mark your calendars now.

and Festivals
