Willis Smith

Willis Berton “Butch” Smith, age 74, of Souderton, Pennsylvania, formerly of Marlinton, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017, with his family by his side.

Born December 27, 1942, in Valley Bend, he was a son of Pearl L. Weese Smith, of Marlinton, and the late Berton Ellis Smith, Jr.

Butch was a 1960 graduate of Marlinton High School. He was a United States Navy Veteran, a member of the American Legion and the Lions Club. He was of the Methodist faith.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Willard Marvin Smith.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 52 years, Anna Sue Staehle Smith; sons, Ronald Berton, Kevin Joseph and Keith Jason, all of Pennsylvania; a brother, Joseph W. Smith, of Marlinton; a sister, Betty L. Rajczak, and husband, Ted, of Caldwell; and four granddaughters.

As per his wishes, the body was cremated.

His cremains will be returned to Pocahontas County at a later date.
