William Guy Warner, age 81, of Bartow, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2014, at Pendleton Manor in Franklin.

Born August 19, 1932, at Hunting Ground in Pendleton County, he was a son of the late Okey Owen and Martha Sponaugle Warner.

Mr. Warner had been a truck driver for various coal mines and also worked at the tannery in Bartow.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Betty Mable Warner; and a daughter, Ella Warner.

He is survived by his daughters, Gloria Smith, and husband, Robert, of Bartow, Beverly Warner, of Durbin, and Sara Warner, and Rick Friel, of Bartow; a son, David Warner, and Stephanie Nicholas, of Back Mountain Road, Durbin; a brother, Otis Warner, and wife, Mable, of Ohio; several sisters; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was March 2 at Thornwood Community Church with Pastor Carl Greathouse officiating. Interment was in Lambert Cemetery. Pallbearers were Stephen, Aric, Justin, Gray, Craig and Lucas Warner.
