William Austin Morgan, 86, of Hillsboro, and Stafford, Virginia, passed away Friday, April 18, 2025, at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Born December 13, 1938, in Lobelia, he was a son of the late Samuel Aaron and Luna Hill Morgan.

Austin was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Confilct, member of the Marlinton Church of God, an Electronic Security specialist for Kastle System LLC, and an avid hunter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Thomas “TJ” Shafer; and two brothers, Albert Morgan and Alavadore Morgan.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara Workman Morgan; sons, William Aaron Morgan, and wife, Glenda, of Stafford, Virginia, and Kenneth Edward Morgan, and wife, Alicia, of Keedysville, Maryland; grandchildren, Taylor Morgan, Brittney Morgan, Sama-tha Dunmore, Piper Morgan, Kristin Shafer, Rilee Palmer and Ianna Palmer; one great- grandson, Charlie Aryn Dunmore; sister, Janet Carter, of Maryland; brothers, Arlie Morgan, and wife, Maggie, of Arbovale, Roger Morgan, and wife, Wanda, of Covington, Virginia, and Randall Morgan, and wife, Dorothy, of Hillsboro; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was held Tuesday April 22, 2025, at the Marlinton Church of God with Pastor Fred Goldizen officiating. Burial, with Military Rites, was in Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro.
