What’s Cookin’?

Vegetable Dip
2/3 cup mayonnaise
1 cup sour cream
1 Tbsp. minced onion
1 tsp. parsley
1 tsp. dill
1 tsp. Lawry’s seasoned salt
1 tsp. Accent
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp. celery salt
4 drops Tabasco sauce
Mix well and chill.

Cold Oven Cake
2 sticks margarine
1/2 cup Crisco
3 cups sugar
5 large eggs
1/4 tsp. salt
3 cups Hudson Cream flour
1 cup evaporated milk
2 Tbsp. vanilla or butternut flavoring
Cream shortening, sugar and salt until creamy.
Beat one egg at a time and add to mixture.
Add flour and milk, alternately ending with flour.
Fold in flavoring.
Place in cold oven.
Turn temperature to 325 º and bake for 1 hour and 55 minutes.
Do not open the oven door while cake is baking.
