Coconut Pecan
Candy Log

2 cups sugar
1 cup evaporated milk
1/2 lb. dates, cut into three pieces each
1 cup chopped pecans
1 tsp. vanilla
1/3 cup flaked coconut
Place sugar and milk in a saucepan; stir constantly over low heat.
Cook to soft ball stage
Add dates.
Cook for 5 minutes.
Do not overcook. Remove from heat. Add pecans and vanilla.
Stir until thoroughly mixed and candy cools slightly.
Lay a towel on table. Sprinkle coconut lengthwise into 3-inch strips.
Roll candy between towel to make log. Cut when cool.
Yields 3 dozen pieces.
Chocolate Delights

1 lb. sweet milk chocolate
2 (1 oz.) squares unsweetened chocolate
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup chopped dates
1/4 tsp. salt
5 cups corn flakes
Melt chocolate over hot water. Combine remaining ingredients.
Mix well.
Drop by teaspoonful onto waxed paper. Let cool.
