Fresh Strawberry Pie\r\n4 cups washed, capped strawberries\r\n1 cup sugar\r\n3 Tbsp. cornstarch\r\n2 Tbsp. lemon juice\r\n1\/2 cup water\r\n1\/2 tsp. salt \r\nRed food coloring- optional\r\nMash 2 cups of berries; leave 2 cups firm and whole. \r\nAdd sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, salt and water to the mashed berries and cook in double boiler until thick. \r\nPlace the firm, whole berries in a baked crust.\r\nPour sauce mixture over berries to fill. Chill. \r\nTop with whipped cream before serving.\r\n\u00a0\r\nGum Springs Ragoo\r\n1\/2 lb. bacon \r\n1 lb. round steak\r\nSalt and pepper\r\n3 carrots, sliced thin\r\n1 med. onion, sliced\r\n4 med. potatoes, sliced\r\nParsley flakes\r\nIn large heavy skillet, arrange bacon strips over bottom. Cut the steak in strips and cover bacon with steak. Salt and pepper to taste. Cover the meat with carrots, onions and potatoes. Add parsley flakes, cover and cook over low heat for 2 1\/2 hours or until done. Add water if necessary.
