Kettle Barbecued
Pot Roast 
Beef pot roast, 3-to-4 inches thick (6-9 lbs.)
Rub with olive oil, salt and pepper.
Place on barbecue grill rack over medium hot coals and sear the meat on both sides.
Baste with a sauce of sour cream mixed with enough garlic powder and prepared horseradish to suit you. Cover grill with the lid. Cook slowly – 15 minutes per pound for medium rare.
Turn meat every 15 minutes and baste with the sauce.
Roast to your desired liking.

Grandma’s
Apple Butter Pie
1 1/2 cups apple butter
3/4 cup sugar
2 Tbsp. flour
1 large egg
1/4 tsp. salt
1 cup milk
1/2 tsp. each, cinnamon and cloves
Crust:
1 1/2 cup flour
1 tsp. salt
5 Tbsp. shortening
Cold water or milk to moisten
Use larger portion of dough for bottom crust. Then roll out remaining dough and cut into strips. Mix and place filling in crust, use strips to criss-cross top of pie.
Bake about 1 hour at 350º.
