Slow Cooked Mixed Beans
1 1/2 cups ketchup
1 onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1 sweet red pepper, chopped
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 bay leaves
2 to 3 tsp. cider vinegar
1 tsp. ground mustard
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
1 can Great Northern beans, rinsed and drained
1 can lima beans
1 can black beans, rinsed and drained
1 can black-eyed peas, rinsed and drained
Combine the first 10 ingredients in a 5-quart slow cooker.
Stir in the beans and peas.
Cover and cook on low for 5 to 7 hours or until onion and peppers are tender.
Discard bay leaves.

A Better Lemonade
Squeeze the juice from 4 lemons, 4 limes and 4 oranges and pour into a gallon container.
Thinly slice the remaining fruit and set aside for garnish.
Add water and sugar to the juices and mix well.
Store in the refrigerator.
Serve over ice with fruit slices.
