Pocahontas County Senior Citizens

Chicken Wings

20 to 25 fresh chicken wings
1 cup water
1 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup sweet pineapple juice
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup salad oil
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. ground ginger
Cut wings into three pieces and discard the tips. Combine remaining ingredients in blender and then pour over wings in an 8 x 11 inch pan and marinate overnight. Bake uncovered at 350º for 1 hour and 15 minutes to 1 hours and 30 minutes. They should be browned and somewhat caramelized. Serve warm.

Crock Pot Confetti Chili
Dr. Wayne Miller
1 can corn
1 can navy, pinto or Great Northern beans, rinsed
1 can black beans
1 can dark red kidney beans, rinsed
1 can diced tomatoes and green chilies
1 small onion, chopped
1 red pepper, chopped
3-4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp. cumin
1/8 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
3 tsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup fresh parsley or 1 Tbsp. dried parsley
3/4 pound ground turkey

Put everything except turkey into the crock pot and cook at least 3 hours on high. Cook ground turkey in a frying pan, then add to crock pot 10 to 30 minutes before serving.
