Russell R. Cane, was born February 5, 1953, in Sparta, Illinois, a son of Ira and Ruth Cane.
He loved the outdoors and sports, where he excelled in basketball and went on to Kansas State on a basketball scholarship. After a semester there, he moved to Fort Wayne and worked at B. F. Goodrich. He soon enrolled at IPFW where he became student body president and completed his four-year degree.
Rusty acquired a personality that drew people to him socially and in business. He had a huge heart and made friends all over the country. This helped him enter many formal and informal business engagements, especially with his good friends, Denny and Bradd.
Rusty spent a lot of time between Florida, New Orleans and West Virginia. He had a way with the opposite sex, where he claimed many times “love that girl” or “I’m going to marry her.”
He bought his prize 200 acres in West Virginia, called “Rusty Land,” where he spent a lot of time.
We watched him transition from a metrosexual to a mountain man.
He was most proud of his daughter, Candace (Liberman), and her three boys, Baron, Ford and Vail; and his son, Keenan (Centlivre).
Rusty passed on to a better place March 29, 2026. He most definitely will be fondly remembered and sorely missed by many friends and family.
