Robert Lucas

Robert Darrell Lucas, age 63, of Neola, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2016, at his home, following a brief illness.

Born August 29, 1952, at Ranger, he was a son of the late Russell Barker and Ella Mae Fraley Lucas.

Robert attended Cochran Missionary Baptist Church in Neloa. He was a retired CSX railroad conductor with 33 years of service, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on small engines and helping others with projects.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, PJ Wiles.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Regina Lucas, of Neola; two sons, Alex Darrell Lucas, of Roanoke, Virginia, and Russell Thomas Lucas, of Blue Ridge, Virginia; a daughter, Vanessa Starr Nicely, of Huntington; and a grandson, Logan Storm McKenice, of Huntington.

Funeral service was August 2 at May Chapel United Methodist Church in Neola with Rev. Roger Frame officiating. Interment was in May Chapel Church Cemetery.
