Robert Michael “Mad Dog” Hornsby, age 65, of Saltsburg, Pennsylvania, and Marlinton, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 26, 2015, surrounded by a loving group of family and friends.

He was a son of the late Fred A. Hornsby, Jr., and Jean Stitt Hornsby.

Mike was a landscaper by trade. He and his wife lived in West Virginia for many years and returned to Pennsylvania in 1985 to assist his parents on their Murrysville farm.

His passions were hunting, fishing and wildlife observation, with a special interest in the American Bald Eagle.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph William Hornsby; and a nephew, Erik Gordon.

He is survived by his wife and best friend, Mary Melanie Hornsby; a brother, Fred A. Hornsby, III, and wife, Kay, of Morgantown; a sister, Ann Gordon, of Garrett Park, Maryland; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved German Shepherds, Lucky and Joey.

A celebration of Mike’s life will be held at a later date.
