Preserving Pocahontas

A group of students during recess at Mount Pleasant School which was also known as Indian Draft School, or Draft School. It is located about one mile from Edray on the Edray-Clover Lick Road and possibly occupied four buildings over the years. The first was built about 1850; the second in 1868; the third in 1893; and the fourth in 1919. The school was closed in 1957. Courtesy of Pocahontas County Historical Society, ID:  PHS002509
