Alice Moore, English teacher at Marlinton High School, is seated in her classroom in the early 1960s. Alice McClintic was the daughter of Lockhart Mathews and Nannie Alice Slaven McClintic, having been born November 7, 1904 in Marlinton, W.Va. She graduated from West Virginia University, Middleburg College and Breadloaf School of English. She taught at Charleston High School from 1928 to 1935. Alice married Jack Moore, settled in Buckeye, and taught at Marlinton High School retiring in 1966. Alice McClintic Moore died March 29, 1986 at the age of 81 and is buried at Mountain View Cemetery in Marlinton. (McClintic Collection, Pocahontas Co. Historical Society; ID: PHP007279)
