Track Removal at Clover Lick – 1980

This picture reminds me of a song from Mick Souter, “The Dying Day of the American Train.” Bill McNeel took the photograph in Clover Lick on March 29, 1980 as the tracks along the Greenbrier Division of the C&O Railroad were being removed. A stack of railroad ties sits quietly on the left, waiting to be picked up. Pocahontas Co. Historical Society, ID: PHS002898
