Osa S. McLaughlin, of Marlinton, died Sunday, January 18, 2015.
Born February 20, 1925, at Clover Lick, she was a daughter of the late John Francis Smith and Mary Hoover Smith.
Osa was a member of Marlinton Presbyterian Church where she was president of the Women’s Circle for many years. She had worked many years as a clerk for C. J. Richardson Hardware.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Shad McLaughlin; and siblings, George Smith, Alice Ervine, Jim Smith, Annalee Smith, Charles Smith, Jack Smith, Marmett Smith, Bill Smith, Hunter Smith and Gail Millsap.
She is survived by her children, David McLaughlin, and wife, Cindy, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Sally Nottingham, and husband, Ken, of Sugar Hill, Georgia, Tom McLaughlin, and wife, Laura, of Louisa, Virginia, Mike McLaughlin, and wife, Lois, of Richmond, Virginia, Pat McLaughlin, and Diane, of Smithfield, Virginia, and Ginny Shaw, and husband, Kevin, of Marlinton; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Osa donated her body to the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, January 31, at 2 p.m. at Marlinton Presbyterian Church. Fellowship will be from 1 to 2 p.m.
