Carl McMillion

Carl Adrin “Red” McMillion, age 86, of Cass, passed away Friday, January 16, 2015, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia.

Born October 6, 1928, at Renick, he was a son of the late Orville and Veda Cutlip McMillion.

Red served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked all his life on the railroad, retiring as an engineer for Cass Scenic Railroad.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Carl McMillion, Jr.; and two brothers, Eddie and Denver McMillion.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Gladys McCoy McMillion; a daughter, Sherry Johnson, of Cass; two sons, Doug McMillion, of Covington, Virginia, and David McMillion, of Cass; four grandchildren, Megan, Mac and Bradley McMillion and Jacob Johnson; a great-granddaughter, Selina McMillion; a brother, Leo McMillion, of Etters, Pennsylvania; and two sisters, Linda Rose, of Hillsboro, and Essie King, of York, Pennsylvania.

Funeral service was January 20 at Morgan Funeral Home in Lewisburg with Rev. Ron Kinzel officiating. Interment was in the McMillion United Methodist Church Cemetery on Friars Hill.
