Mary Dillon

Our Mom has passed, our lives have changed, and Heaven has gained a beautiful angel.

Mary S. Dillon, age 75, went home on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. She was met by her parents, brother, and dear grandson.

Born January 4, 1943, in Meadville, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Winfred and Fairy Sheets.

Mary’s devotion in life was to her children. Everyone knew that Mary, Max and Kristie were a trio that would never waiver. Without fanfare, she showed how a single mother could work for decades, cook dinner at night, attend school functions, bake birthday cakes, celebrate holidays, care for her parents and provide stability for our extended family. She always sipped a weak pot of coffee, watched “her stories” and made sure to say “Be Careful” before you left the house – every single time.

She grew up in Green Bank, and graduated from Green Bank High School. After graduation, she moved to Richmond, Virginia, and ultimately worked at Dupont Fibers for more than 30 years where she met many dear, lifelong friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Wetzel Sheets; and beloved grandson, Ethan Staton.

Mary is survived by her son, Max Staton, and wife, Lisa; and daughter, Kristie Dillon.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, November 16, 5 p.m. at Webber Memorial Baptist Church. We will share, pray, eat, sing and remember a great lady who was an amazing mother, daughter, sister, friend, coworker and spirit. Mary’s strength, grace and love will pull us through any dark times.

In lieu of flowers, our family suggests sending memorial contributions to www.marchofdimes.org.

Be well, smile, appreciate loved ones, hug your pets and care for those who need it. Mom would appreciate that.
