Community Update
After a few weeks off and feeling much better, I am happy to share that I was able to attend a great West Virginia Municipal League Conference in early August. It is always a wonderful opportunity to connect with other Town Counterparts, learn new ideas, and proudly represent our community. The full agenda had three different sessions per hour. The biggest challenge was deciding which sessions to attend, when all three were current and active topics.
We’re also excited about a fun new addition at Roger L. Trusler Memorial Park – a pirate ship play feature! We know it already has brought lots of smiles, imagination and adventure for local families and visitors.
There is still a little landscaping work left to finish at the gazebo area. We can’t wait for everyone to enjoy the completed space.
And don’t forget – September 4 will be our last First Friday of the season at Discovery Junction. We hope you’ll come out and spend one more evening with us as we wrap up this year’s First Friday fun!
I am pleased to announce three areas, including Eighth Street from Seventh Avenue at Route 39 to 10th Avenue, is currently set for new paving this Thursday and Friday.
