Marlene Seldomridge Bayless, age 78, of Richwood, formerly of Cass, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at her home.
Born September 5, 1936, at Cass, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Grace Cassell.
Marlene was of the Baptist faith and was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Clayton P. Seldomridge; a son, Douglas Seldomridge; two sisters, Lucille James and Dorothy Fristoe; and four brothers, Denley Cassell, Donald Cassell, Teddy Cassell and Robert “Bob” Cassell.
She is survived by her husband, H.E. “Bub” Bayless, of Richwood; a daughter, Denise Chestnut, and husband, Mike, of Cass; two sons, Danny Seldomridge, and wife, Barbara, of Green Bank, and Darren Seldomridge, and wife, Mary, of Cass; two brothers, Georald Cassell and Wilbur “Bud” Cassell, both of Cass; a sister, Madeline Summerfield, of Baltimore, Maryland; seven grandchildren, Clayton Seldomridge, Cole Seldomridge, Kenny Seldom- ridge, Billy Perkins, Marlena Shifflett, Cody Chestnut and Melissa Jordan; and six great-grandchildren, Natalie Seldomridge, Molly Seldomridge, Garrett Seldomridge, Gavin Seldomridge, Sullivan Seldomridge and Jase Shifflett.
Funeral service was August 14 at Cass United Methodist Church with Pastors David Fuller and David Rittenhouse officiating. Interment was in Wanless Cemetery in Cass.
