Margaret Hill

Margaret Ellen Shiflett Hill, age 80, of Green Bank, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

Born October 19, 1933, at Durbin, she was a daughter of the late John Lawrence Shiflett, Sr., and Letha Mae Curry Shiflett.

Margaret was a member of Pine Grove Church of the Brethren where she served as Deaconess, and loved serving in the church and serving others. She worked for the Social Security Administration in Baltimore and then became a homemaker and stay-at-home mom and finally retired as a CNA from Pocahontas Center. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman Dallas Hill in 2010; and a brother, John Lawrence Shiflett, Jr.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary Margaret Hill Hickson, and husband, Kim, of Arbovale; two sons, Johnny Lawrence Hill, and wife, Renee, of Green Bank, and William Dallas Hill, of Arbovale; two grandchildren, Melissa Dawn Taylor, and husband, Chris, of Green Bank, Jo Autumn Nicole Goldizen, and husband, Mike, of Marlinton; three great-grandchildren, Allyson Taylor, Kendall Taylor and Michael Wade Goldizen; two sisters, Leona Sheets, of Coleman Manor, Maryland, and Grace Varner, and husband, Frank, of Durbin; and two brothers, Jim Shiflett, and wife, Twila, of Frank, and Allen Shiflett, and wife Bonnie, of Dunmore.

Funeral service was December 7 at Pine Grove Church of the Brethren with Pastor Julian Rittenhouse and Pastor David Rittenhouse officiating. Burial was in the Arbovale Cemetery Annex.
