Madeline McNeel

Madeline Lee McNeel, age 78, of Hillsboro, died Friday, December 18, 2015 at Pocahontas Center in Marlinton.

Born January 12, 1937, in Huntington, she was a daughter of the late William and Edna Mae Marcum.

Lee was a retired special education teacher, having taught 32 years. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma; and a member of the Oak Grove Presbyterian Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and a member of the choir.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel E. McNeel.

She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Lee Beard, and husband, Bill, of Hillsboro; sons, Samuel E. McNeel, Jr., of Hillsboro, and John K. McNeel, of Marietta, Ohio; and two grandchildren, Sarah Boggs, and husband, Todd, and Steven Beard, and wife, Carissa.

Funeral service was December 21 at Oak Grove Presbyterian Church in Hillsboro with Pastor Andy Rice officiating. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro.

Memorials may be made to the Oak Grove Presbyterian Church Building Fund.
