Luther Crouthamel

Luther Andrew Crouthamel, 78, of Sinks Grove, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2020, at Ruby Memorial Hospital following two years of ill health.

He was born May 9, 1942, in Teaneck, New Jersey, and was raised in Paramus, New Jersey, by Rev. Stover and Stella Worthington Crouth-amel.
After high school, Luther enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he was trained at the underwater demolition school and was chosen for Special Ops, having served in Southeast Asia during Vietnam.

He took early retirement from Siemens Energy and Automation management team following 9/11. In retirement, he invested his time and energy in Social Services endeavors working for Seneca, later becoming a drug counselor. Luther then devoted his time to Habitat for Humanity until his health declined in 2018, after suffering his fourth heart event, from which he never fully recovered.

He was preceded in death by a twin brother, Lawrence; and three grandchildren.

Luther is survived by his wife of 29 years, Donna Snow Crouthamel; two children, Eva, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and Jack, of Watertown, Conneticutt; five step-daughters, Heather, of Fairfax, Virginia, Amanda, of York, Pennsylvania, Reiko, of Las Vegas, Nevada, Anastisa, of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Tirzaa, of York, Pennsylvania; two brothers, James, of New York and John, of New Jersey; one sister in North Carolina; 11 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at noon Sunday, October 18, 2020, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1019 Court Street N in Lewisburg.
