Dear Editor:

Saturday night, December 7, I went to the Pretty Penny in Hillsboro to hear a wonderful new local band called Rush Run Philharmonic.

It’s composed of good friends who have enjoyed playing music together informally and have recently decided to play out.

The leader of the band is Phil Rolleston, a gorgeous singer with a phenomenal repertoire. Joining him with facile guitar riffs and engaging vocals is Patrick Gabbert. The lady with the rich evocative voice is Ginger Must.  Ginger’s husband, Bob, plays bass.  Randy Thomas rounds out the band with strong guitar work and solo vocals on many of his personal favorites.

The music is mellow, thoughtful, and fills every space with great vibes.

The Pretty Penny was warm and festive and, as usual, the food was satisfying and tasty.

The beauty of Rush Run is they attract an enthusiastic audience which spans generations.  The band also plays locally at the Fiddlehead, and if you go out to see them you won’t be disappointed.
