Leo Richard “Red” McCoy, age 77, of Droop, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2015, at White Sulphur Springs Center.
Born April 14, 1937, at Droop, he was a son of the late Lanty and Genevieve Vaughn McCoy.
Red was a retired truck driver, avid hunter and gun collector. He loved going to shooting matches and gathering with friends for a friendly game of poker.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Workman McCoy; sons, Tommy McCoy and Bill McCoy; a sister, Betty Black; and brothers, Thomas McCoy, Harry McCoy and William McCoy.
He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Hodge, and husband, Jason, of Frankford; his son, Ricky McCoy, of Dunbar; two sisters, Judy Cutlip, and husband, Roland, of Hillsboro, and Garnett Sharp, and husband, Tom, of Marlinton; grandchildren, Tracy, Mitch and L.T. McCoy, Amanda McCoy, Courtney Gillilan, Crystal, Tiffany and Jarod Hodge; great-grandchildren, Jesse McCoy, Ja McCoy and Taylee Morgan; and several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Funeral service is January 21, 7 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Home in Lewisburg with Rev. Michael Neel officiating. Family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
