Kestra Pritchard

Kestra Lee Pritchard, age 74, of Dunmore, died peacefully Saturday, January 6, 2018, following a long illness.

Born March 9, 1943, at Parkersburg, she was a daughter of the late William Leon and Gladys McLaughlin Boso.

At the age of 13, Kestra moved to Willowick, Ohio, with her family, and was a 1961 graduate of North High School.
Kestra married George Pritchard June 17, 1961. The couple lived in Dunmore for a year before moving to Cleveland, Ohio, to raise their family.

While living in Ohio, Kestra held several administrative positions at General Electric, Bailey Meter and Astro Model Corporation, where she retired as a purchasing agent of manufacturing components.

Upon retirement, Kestra and George returned to Dunmore, enjoying many years together with friends and neighbors. Kestra was very active in Baxter Presbyterian Church in Dunmore, where she served as an Elder and Treasurer. She was also a board member of Dunmore Community Center.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Geoffrey Pritchard; and a sister, Sandra Zmek.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, George C. Pritchard; son, Greg Pritchard, and wife, Patricia; daughter, Beth Bierer, and husband, Neil; grandchildren, Shannon Pritchard and Glenn Pritchard; nephews, James Pritchard and Mark McClintock; and nieces, Betty Herbster, Leanna Bone and Tami Zmek.

Funeral service was held January 10 at Baxter Presbyterian Church with Pastors David Rittenhouse and Bill Cox officiating. Interment was in Dunmore Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dunmore Cemetery Fund, c/o Peggy Carpenter, Treasurer, 16301 Frost Road, Dunmore, WV 24934.
