Kerth Gum

Kerth Elmo Gum, age 81, of New Cumberland, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2017, at Weirton Medical Center.

Born April 4, 1935, at Dunmore, he was a son of the late Merritt M. and Sylvia T. Taylor Gum.

Kerth retired from Weirton Steel Corp. He was a member of the New Cumberland Christian Church and was a United States Army Veteran.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel L. Gum.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Strope Gum; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was January 9 at Turley Funeral Home in New Cumberland with Minister Rick Tinsky officiating. Interment was in Shadow Lawn Memorial Gardens in Newell.
