Junior Shearer

Junior Walter Shearer, age 87, of Marlinton, passed away Friday, January 10, 2020, at Pocahontas Center in Marlinton.

Born March 21, 1932, in Clover Lick, he was a son of the late Harry Walter and Minnie Virginia Sharp Shearer.

Junior attended Mary’s Chapel. He was a farmer, logger and truck driver.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rella Jane Shearer; and several brothers and sisters.

He is survived by three daughters, Zella Fowler, of Valley Bend, Jenny Gragg, of Marlinton, and Rebecca Pritt, of Moorefield; two sons, Marty Shearer, of Valley Head, and Warren Shearer, of Elkins; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one great- great-grandchild; a brother, Clarence Shearer, of Marlinton; and a sister, Oleta Scruggs of Roanoke, Virginia.

Funeral service was held January 12 at Lantz Funeral Home in Buckeye with Pastor Sam Felton officiating. Burial was in the Gibson Cemetery at Slaty Fork.
