Judith Daugherty, age 81, of Davisville, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2026.

Born November 16, 1944, she was a daughter of the late James Brown and Mabel Gray Gragg. She graduated from Green Bank High School and went on to obtain her Nursing Assistant Certification, preparing for a life devoted to the care and comfort of others.

For more than 20 years, Judith was employed at St Joseph’s Hospital as a nursing assistant, where she served her patients with steady dedication and genuine compassion. She took great pride in her work, giving her best to those who depended on her, and fulfilling what she considered her life’s passion.

A Methodist by faith, Judith’s belief in caring for others was evident throughout her years of service.

Judith was a loving mom, grandmother and G.G., and her devotion to family was clear in the encouragement she offered, the kindness she showed, and the memories she helped create and cherish.

Those left behind to carry on her legacy are her brother George (Helen Marie) Gragg, of North Carolina; daughters, Pamela Davis and Jodi (John) Chaney; grandchildren, Stephanie Corbitt, Rachael (Michael) Dukas, Jimmy (Jennifer) Chaney, and Jondra Chaney; and great-grandchildren, Kenadee, Maddie, Owen, Finn and Willow.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her honorable and loving husband, Royce E. Daugherty; and a brother.

Service held at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Sunday, October 4, 2026, with a graveside service in the Garden of Love at Sunset Memory Gardens.

An online guestbook for condolences can be found at www.sunsetparkersburg.com

Sunset Memorial Funeral Home is honored to assist the Daugherty Family during this difficult time.
