James R. “Jim” Wade, age 63, of Lewisburg, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, June 29, 2017, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Fairlea.

Born November 26, 1953, at Marlinton, he was a son of Betty Wade Doss, of Marlinton, and the late George Robert Wade.

Jim was a graduate of West Virginia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. He recently retired from ABB in Lewisburg with more than 30 years of service. He was a member of the Rupert Rifle Club, a HAM radio operator and enjoyed bicycling and NASCAR. He found joy in volunteering and helping others. He was always ready when asked to help.

He proudly served his country as an Air Force Veteran, an Army Reservist and served in the National Guard.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, George Gray Wade; and step-father, Paul Raymond Doss.

In addition to his mother, those left to cherish his memory are two sisters, Barbara Pellegrin, and husband, John, of Parkersburg, and Cheryl Burks, of Hillsboro; and two nephews, Jeremy Burks, and wife, Missy, of Princeton, and Wes Burks, and wife, Jaime, of Morgantown.

Jim chose to donate his body to the Human Gift Registry at the Osteopathic School of Medicine in Lewisburg.

A Celebration of Life was held July 3 at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg with Father John Rice officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Children’s Home Society of West Virginia, PO Box 2942, Charleston, WV 25330; or another favored charity.
