James Sheets

James “Allen” Sheets, Sr., age 85, of Cass, passed away Thursday, August 17, 2017, at Pocahontas Center in Marlinton.

Born April 18, 1932, at Cass, he was a son of the late Willie Hanson and Mamie Catherine Wilfong Sheets.

Allen was of the Methodist faith and a farmer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jimmie Sheets; three sisters, Carolyn Thomas, Bonnie Nelson and Betty Gray; and a daughter-in-law, Linda Rexrode Sheets.

He is survived by his wife of 68 ½ years, Grace Mae Grimes Sheets; a daughter, Brenda Aldridge, and husband, Harry, of Morgantown; a son, Ronnie Sheets, of Cass; six grandchildren, Chris Sheets, and wife, Suzie, Jonathan Sheets, Ronda Sheets, Jennifer Woods, and husband, Bob, Lisa Sheets and Jessica Combs, and husband, Chantry; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was held August 20 at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Arbovale with Pastor Julian Rittenhouse officiating. Interment was in Arbovale Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Allen’s name may be made to BFD Fire and Rescue, Green Bank Division Squad, PO Box 267, Durbin, WV 26264.
