MAMA BEAR ROSE and her cubs, Bud and Petals, were released to the wild Thursday. Rose investigated the surroundings a few times before bringing the cubs out of the “family’s” enclosure. Once outside, the fun began – climbing on logs, and falling; climbing trees, and falling; and finally running into the forest. Point of View Farm owner and self-proclaimed mother of the bears Joel Rosenthal sat in the woods with the trio for a while. Rose came to him to get one last cookie before moving on. The plan was for two-year-old Waffles, right, to be released Saturday, but Waffles hates goodbyes. He worked a chain loose on the gate to his pen Friday night, and squee-zed his way to new adventures. S. Stewart photo and courtesy of Joel Rosenthal
