Residents in the county have reported receiving a pink notification by mail which advises that the recipient has been pre-approved by Medicare for a back brace or knee brace.
This is a scam – an effort to gain access to your personal info.
In an attempt to make the scam look legitimate, the card includes a claim deadline and release code.
The phone number listed on the card is 1-866-526-4274.
DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER.
If you receive a “pink” notice by mail, or if you receive a phone call which makes the same claim pertaining to pre-approved goods or services, DO NOT give out any of your personal information. And DO NOT give your Social Security Number to anyone over the phone.
