Hillsboro Mayor’s Corner

We are beginning to see great things happening for the Town of Hillsboro.

Our new Dollar General store is open and the new restaurant will be opening soon. The flags are back up along Rt. 219 thanks to the Hillsboro Volunteer Fire Department. Our Bicentennial fish has a beautiful flower garden surrounding it thanks to Abigail McNeel, Jill Seldomridge and Jennifer Rose.

The lift station, that has served the town for the last 40 years, is being replaced and should be completed very soon. This is from a critical needs grant. The town has also received a grant to upgrade the 40-year-old lagoon system. We hope the work will begin in early fall.

The best news for the town is we have finally let the bids out for the demolition of the old bank building. We now have pre-bid meeting dates and bid opening dates. The bid will be awarded July 6, 2023. We have waited a long time to get to this point.

We have also received a grant for design work for sidewalks in Hillsboro. This will design the sidewalks on Rt. 219 from Denmar/Lobelia roads to Main Street along with sidewalks on Denmar Road, Main Street and Lobelia Road.

I would like to thank everyone for their patience in waiting for these projects to be completed. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
